About Brunker Road Medical Centre
We are an Accredited General Practice. At Brunker Road Medical Centre in Adamstown, we strive to maintain our skills. We have weekly education meetings for doctors and nurses and keep current with resuscitation. We have up to date equipment and have a program of constant improvement. We are always open to feedback so please feel free to tell us how we can improve our service.

If you feel your problem could be dealt with in a telephone consultation book a TELEHEALTH consult via our online booking system (HOTDOC) or by calling the surgery on 0249523700
Video Consultation
Video consultations are available If you feel your problem could be dealt with via Video. Book a TELEHEALTH VIDEO consult by calling the surgery on 0249523700 or choosing Video Consult in Hotdoc. We are using Healthdirect. You will receive an SMS with a link to the surgery when your doctor initiates the consultation. Click the link and agree to allow the audio and video and your doctor will connect for a video consultation on your device. it works on a smart phone or tablet and some laptops.
Repeat Script and Referral Requests
To request a repeat prescription of a medication you take regularly, select Repeat Script button and follow the prompts. For a repeat referral to see a specialist you have previously seen, select the Repeat Referral button.
This service does not replace appropriate medical care. Your doctor will determine whether the request will be performed.
You will be charged a fee for an SMS script, which will be refunded if the request is declined, and you would need to make an appointment to see the doctor.
This service is only available for existing patients with their usual GP.

Dr Anita Watts and Dr Joab Hull are Aboriginal Doctors. Our practice values caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. Many of our doctors have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

After Hours
Our doctors take part in the Local GP Access After Hours service, on a roster to provide after hours clinics, home visits and telephone advice. Our nurses take part in the telephone nursing triage service.
Aged Care Services
Nursing Home and Hostel care is provided at Maroba, Jesmond Grove, Bupa Waratah NH, Garden Suburbs NH, Tinonee Gardens Hostel, Lindsay Gardens NH, St John's Villa and Wallsend Nursing Home.
Medical Students
This practice is associated with the University of Newcastle Medical School. At times your doctor will have a medical student in attendance as part of their training and you will be asked whether you are willing to have the student present during your consultation. If you do not wish to have the student present through your consultation, please inform the receptionist.
Management of Health Information
This practice manages patient information in line with National Privacy Principles. Our practice has a formal privacy policy, which clearly sets out our process of handling personal information, including health information and will be made available to anyone who requests it. Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of your personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
Our surgery has a non-smoking policy; non-smoking signs are located at the entry of the building and in the waiting room. We thank you for your cooperation.
Our procedural instruments are placed in an ultrasonic cleaner and then Autoclaved. Sterile packs are used for all procedures. This is in line with AS 5369:2023 – Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other devices in health and non-health related facilities.
